Bonne map projection

Bonne map projection
A modified equal-area map projection of the conical type having lines representing a standard parallel and a central meridian intersecting near the center of the map. The line representing the central meridian (geographic) is straight, and the scale along it is exact. All geographic parallels are represented by arcs of concentric circles at their true distances apart, divided to exact scale, and all meridians, except the central one, are curved lines connecting corresponding points on the parallels. The projection is no longer used for surveys and is only found in atlases.
